Silent cooling for cutting-edge research.
The Institute of Science and Technology Austria, ISTA for short, is dedicated to interdisciplinary cutting-edge research in the natural sciences of biology, computer science, mathematics, neuroscience and physics. The campus in Maria Gugging, a district of Klosterneuburg near Vienna, was opened in 2009 and extends over 20 hectares including a technology park.
A successful mix of classical and modern buildings characterises the grounds. The high-quality new buildings are as cutting-edge as the research facilities. Great importance is attached to sustainability. One of the newest buildings ist the Moonston Building for experimental and theoretical research groups. The GraviVent® silent
gravity cooling system was installed in the microscopy rooms in the basement of the laboratory building. Several criteria predestine the silent gravity cooling system for research laboratories: the almost silent and draught-free operation of this cooling system is ideal for working in the laboratory. In addition, the high cooling capacity allows the system to react extremely quickly even at low room temperatures. The high energy effenciency and minimal maintenance requirements are additional plus points.
For example, GraviVent® is already used at the Max-Planck-Institut in Mülheim an der Ruhr, the Fraunhofer Institute in Aachen and the DLR’s Robotics Mechatronis Centre in Oberpfaffenhofen.
