Humboldt-Forum, Berlin
Instead of a castleStatt Schloss
The Berlin Palace (Berliner Schloss) once stood on Spree Island be-
fore it was severely damaged during Second World War and finally
demolished in 1950
From 2013 to 2020, a reconstruction faithful to the original exterior with a modernist interior was carried out according to plans by Italian architect Franco Stella. Since then, the secular building has been the seat of the
Humboldt Forum and houses several museums, restaurants and cafés, among other things.
TTC linear gratings with a transverse profile were installed to cover the ventilation systems.
A total of over 400 running metres of stainless steel gratings were laid. Just under 100 running metres, manufactured in two different widths, were powder-coated according to colour specifications, while the remaining gratings, manufactured in ten different widths, were coloured in polyspectral bronze.
