Design meets monument: LED lights in the Nancy thermal baths
The listed thermal spa in Nancy, France, shines in new splendour after extensive restoration work – thanks to the combination of historical architecture and modern lighting technology. Taking centre stage: the ‘linargo’ baffle luminaires from ado lights, which contribute to the overall appearance as a functional and design product.
Customised ‘LED-linargo BI-300’ pendant baffle luminaires were installed in the entrance and corridor areas. The black colour scheme clearly marks them out as a modern addition in contrast to the historic building fabric. Their linear design harmonises with the architectural concept and creates a homogeneous, continuous ceiling appearance – both visually and acoustically effective.
The dimmable luminaires with DALI power supply unit and 120° beam angle ensure uniform, flexible lighting conditions. Their continuous light strip – realised using a tried-and-tested plug-in and screw system – continues architectural lines without interrupting them.
With the integration of the linargo luminaires, a high-quality product in terms of design and function has been successfully integrated into a historical ensemble – without breaks, but with a clear signature. A successful example of how lighting technology continues to write history.
