Miracle of technology.\u00a0The experts of the DLR Robotics and Mechatronics Centre are always one step ahead of the present: They develop intelligent robot systems for production lines, for example, in the automotive industry, cutting-edge applications for surgeons \u2013 even a joystick for astronauts. This is to be used by the crew of the International Space Station (ISS) to control a robot on earth. 300 employees and 80 students work in the newly built centre of excellence in Oberpfaffenhofen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The building was designed by Birk Heilmeyer and Frenzel Architects in Stuttgart. Furnishings and design were oriented towards the needs of the people researching future-oriented technologies in these surroundings every day. This includes stable conditions, particularly in the labs and the workshops, hence, steady temperatures, no noise emissions. Any deviations or other disruptive factors would have a negative impact on their work and measurements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Innovative solutions from TTC Timmler Technology were chosen for the air-conditioning technology, i.e. silent cooling and gravity cooling, by using the resource-saving, efficient TTC GraviVent product, because the company\u2019s high performance convectors and gravity cooling systems meet the client\u2019s specifications: A constant room climate with a maximum deviation of +\/-1\u00b0 C, especially in the measurement labs as well as noiseless operation without ventilation. This does not just mean a high level of comfort but also precise results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The filigree linear gratings serving as covers for the Floorunits also come from TTC Timmler Technology. Gratings and frames are made from stainless steel. The lengths of the individual components were adapted to the axial dimensions of the fa\u00e7ade. This was a request of the architect and is a matter of course for TTC.
